Police brutality in Tanzania and the right to rally

The police brutality in Tanzania is transgressing our basic right, the right to rally or match.  Tanzanians’ tolerance towards such ferocious polis acts has got to the threshold and now is dwindling.   Most of the CCM maniac legislators are either oblivion or sycophantically using police force to stay in power.  They fawning, flattering and incite polis to infringe our basic right, the right to rally/match.

Mh. Lissu has been inimitable on the clip attached to this article. He is thriving to explain the obligations of police force when civilians practice their basic right, the right to rally.  He further vindicates that police has no constitutional right or obligation to halt or provide a permit to rally.  It is common sense; you don’t need a permit to practice your basic right, for example, right of speech, right to rally, right to protest; you only need to inform! Police has no mandate to impede maandamano but ensure peace and harmony during maandamano

The police brutality toward one of the most prominent politicians in our generation Mh. Lipumba and his followers sets our nation cohesion at steak.  Our national peace is heading down the spiral; is getting murky!  It is evident the officers have defied Mh. Lipumba and his followers’ constitutional right, the right to rally.  Coherently someone has to be accountable for the officers’ malicious act to defy this basic right, the right to rally.  Lissu is absolutely correct on this one.

Our generation is curious, questioning and beginning to understand where we are, came from and wanna go.  We demand answers and don’t wanna be minion anymore, but owners of our destiny.  I’m calling diaspora to say something about the violations of human rights back home.  Lets step up!
